The Story Behind PNGN
At first glance, PNGN may look unexpected. It is the word penguin with the vowels removed. Simple. Intentional. A little curious by design.
But behind the name is something much more personal.
PNGN is a tribute to Takara’s son, whose love for penguins became an unexpected source of inspiration while building the brand. What started as a meaningful nod to family quickly became something bigger.
The more we learned about penguins, the more we realized they reflected everything we believe strong brands and strong leaders should embody.
Penguins are resilient. They adapt to changing environments. They protect what matters. They know when to lead, when to follow and how to move together towards something bigger than themselves.
As Lloyd Spencer Davis writes in The Life of Penguins: “A penguin alone is vulnerable. In a colony, it becomes part of something much stronger.”
That idea sits at the heart of everything we do.
